Algol68G Revision 1.0
---------------------

* Algol68G was developed on a Power Macintosh G3 running LinuxPPC 2000.
Although the code should be free of hardware dependencies, a small probability
exists of encountering problems when building Algol68G on non-PowerPC platforms.
Notably, some platforms do not correctly support the 64-bit integer option.
See the INSTALL file.

* Some platforms do not give reliable information on the actual size of the
system stack (for instance when information is updated periodically).
This has the following practical consequences:

     - Deep recursion may result in a segment violation caused by system
       stack overflow.

     - The garbage collector can make the system stack overflow in case
       of deeply recursive data structures.

     - Using jumps to move between incarnations of recursive procedures
       can make the system stack overflow in case of deep recursion.

* Algorithms for extended precision (LONG LONG INT, LONG LONG REAL and
LONG LONG COMPLEX) are not really suited for precisions larger than about a
thousand digits. State of the art in the field offers more efficient algorithms
than implemented.
